In Terms Of Technology And Cultural Interaction City Furnıture Design As Esthetic Production

Abstract
Technology and culture are factors that affect each other. Over time, the exchange and development of both are inevitable. Technology in general has an impact on culture. Culture, on the other hand, is the social and psychological values of society and the material elements that reflect these values. Also culture is the wholeness of language, belief, idea, aesthetic sensibility, art and aesthetic products, social order, common past and natural environment. These values can be social, psychological and physical. Development and change in terms of technology and cultural interaction are two important concepts that used to describe today’s world. Societies and cities; Technological and aesthetic production are rapidly developing and changing.
In urban transformation and change, urban furniture has a very decisive influence on relations between people and society in the context of urban space. Design products placed in such a way as to respond to the needs of users in any landscape or urban environment like comfort, information, circulation control, seating, resting, protection and entertainment are called ‘City Furnitures’. In city design applications, urban furniture is regarded as an integral part of the square and the streets. In this context, as aesthetic production, importance is given to the design of urban furniture in urban design works. Because, urban furniture is a positive contributor to social life as the elements that make city life more enjoyable and meaningful, urban comfort and urban aesthetic.
In this study; Classification of urban furniture, urban furniture and urban identity relation, design principles of urban furniture and urban furniture designs as aesthetic production are explained with different examples.
